A supplier recommended Danish Oil to me as the best way to finish wood, especially stabilised wood. I have to be honest, I’ve never heard of it. After doing some research, I found out that Danish Oil is actually pretty easy to use.
Danish Oil seeps into the wood’s grains, bringing out the vibrant colors and grain patterns. It can be applied to any wood surface easily, with just a cloth or paper towel. Apply a generous amount and let the wood absorb it. Then apply another coat, without having to sand the first coat down.
Leave it to cure for 24 hours, and then you can do some light sanding with 220 or 320 grit sandpaper. The first Danish Oil I got was from Amazon, as I could not find any local supplier.
Plus, you can easily wipe away access oil on your hands and fingers.
Spills? No problem just wipe that away too. You don’t need to put much thought into getting a nice even application of Danish Oil on your work.
The one I bought is called Tried and True Danish Oil. It comes in a pint, which should last me a very long time. I’ve since poured some of it into a smaller oil dispenser so that I do not end up contaminating or ruining it.
I will upload some pictures soon of stuff I have finished with Danish Oil.
