In my first real video for my YouTube channel, I show you how I make a wooden watch box from Maple and Walnut veneer. In this video, I make a 3-watch box but I do plan on making larger watch boxes once international shipping rates get back to normal.

The process of making a wooden watch box is similar to a jewelry box or any other box, but you’ll need to keep measurements in mind. The most important measurements are the width, length, and height of each watch compartment.

For my watch boxes, I decided to use these burlap watch pillows as they match the wooden watch boxes perfectly. There are no hard wires in these pillows so they can pretty much fit watches of any size.

I try to make my wooden watch boxes as compact as possible, to minimize shipping costs and help out the environment. I think watch boxes with thick walls are just not very good to look at.

Here are some pictures of my Maple and Walnut veneer watch boxes:

I’m also making some from sapele and African padauk.

All my wood watch boxes are finished with a few coats of Danish Oil. It adds a beautiful amber tone to the wood and really brings out the wood grain. To protect the box from moisture, I’ve added a layer of protective wax.
