Since I built my first workbench, I’ve been wanting to get these Powertec workbench casters for mobility. At just $56 they fit my budget and were way cheaper than the options I saw on many YouTube channels.

My workbench is located in the middle of my workshop space. Although I rarely need to move it, there are times when getting it out of the way makes cleaning up a whole lot easier.

Powertech Workbench Casters Breakdown

Here are the details of the Powertect casters:

  • Comes with four swivel casters that use 2-3/8” polyurethane wheels, pedal brackets, and easy install mounting hardware.
  • The swivel casters rotate 360 degrees.
  • Stainless steel construction that supports workbench weight of up to 400lb / 180kg.
  • Non-slip foot-activated pedal mechanism, just push it down when you need to use the casters.
  • Comes with a drilling guide for the exact positioning of screw holes.

The construction and quality were great. The pedals and wheel casters felt sturdy, with a sandblasted finish.

The Powertech workbench casters came with instructions that were very clear, and the drilling guide was easy to understand. All I have to do was attach it to a piece of MDF and drill the holes.

The guide was accurate, and the pedals were setup in no time at all. Attaching the swivel casters was easy as well. I attached it to my main workbench, which I built almost two years ago, not the mini workbench that I completed recently.

The pedals gave you a lot of leverage. You don’t need much strength to activate them. When deactivating the pedals, however, I prefer to use my hands just in case. If you wear boots in the workshop, then you can easily flip them back up with your feet.

The whole process of installing and using the Powertech workbench casters were pretty straightforward. A lot of this is thanks to the drilling guide, which eliminated guesswork.

Although there are other slightly cheaper alternatives now, I highly recommend the Powertec workbench casters based on my own experience.

It’s one of those things you don’t need every day, but when you do, you’ll be glad you added it to your workbench.
